The Lucerne Valley Mustangs will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Summit Leadership Academy EAGLES at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Lucerne Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 47-24 defeat at the hands of Baker.
Despite the loss, Lucerne Valley saw an underclassman step up: Christian Barajas dropped a double-double on 10 points and 27 rebounds. Barajas is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Summit Leadership Academy had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were the victim of a tough 43-17 loss at the hands of Norton Science & Language Academy back in November.
The losses dropped Lucerne Valley to 0-3 and Baker to 1-2.
Lucerne Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Summit Leadership Academy in their previous matchup back in January, winning 39-28. Does Lucerne Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Summit Leadership Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
