The San Tan Charter Roadrunners will venture away from home to square off against the Lincoln Prep Lightning at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. San Tan Charter will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.
San Tan Charter took a 24-run defeat the last time they faced off against Scottsdale Christian Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Roadrunners sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Eagles on Tuesday.
Ayden Aronowitz was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
Madison Highland Prep hit Lincoln Prep with a five-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lightning came up short against the Heat, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Lightning couldn't push the score so high this time.
Lincoln Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Platt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.
San Tan Charter's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9-1 record this season.
Both San Tan Charter and Lincoln Prep just can't seem to miss. The Roadrunners have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Lincoln Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
