Narbonne is 0-10 against Carson since April of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Gauchos will venture away from home to face off against the Colts at 3:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Narbonne will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Thursday, then bounced right back against Rancho Dominguez on Monday. The Gauchos put the hurt on the Lobos with a sharp 22-5 victory. The game was the first time the Gauchos have beaten the Lobos on their field since April 21, 2022.

Mariah Villalobos was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Villalobos was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Semone Flowers was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lilliana Gutierrez, who went a perfect 6-for-6 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Narbonne kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 27 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Carson never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against Gardena as they made off with a 26-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Colts.
Isabella Campos looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kayleigh Allen, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and five runs. Atiana Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Carson's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games. As for Narbonne, their record is now 14-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Narbonne has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Carson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Narbonne suffered a grim 18-1 defeat to Carson in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Gauchos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
