The Summit Christian Academy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Grove Christian School, falling 81-54. Summit Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-22.
Summit Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cole Miller, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Courtland Reiter was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grove Christian School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacob Garrison, who almost dropped a double-double on 32 points and nine rebounds. Garrison is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Collawn, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Summit Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for Grove Christian School, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing The New Community School the next time they take the court. Summit Christian Academy will head out to face The New Community School at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Grove Christian School will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
