The Lithia Springs Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Creekside, falling 81-47. While losing is never fun, Lithia Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Creekside is ranked 112th).
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amaya Richmond, who scored 23 points along with 8 rebounds. Richmond scored a full 48.9% of Lithia Springs' points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Aires Davis, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Creekside found their leader in underclassman C'India Dennis , who dropped a triple-double on 31 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. The match was Dennis 's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Skye Cleveland was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
Lithia Springs now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Creekside, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Lithia Springs will stay at home for another game and welcome Tri-Cities at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Tri-Cities focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. As for Creekside, they will head out on the road to face off against Sandy Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sandy Creek is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
