FORSAN, Texas - After three lead changes,
Anson (Texas) took the lead for good when they scored a touchdown with less than a minute remaining in the fifth quarter and held on to defeat
Forsan (Texas) 21-20 on Saturday.
The Tigers led 7-0 at halftime, but the Buffaloes regained the lead on a touchdown with under a minute left in the fourth.
By the end of the third, Anson found itself trailing by seven points as Forsan captured the lead thanks to two scores in the quarter. FHS scored on a touchdown run by
Kolby Self and a touchdown pass by
Jesse Cervantes in the quarter.
AHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 49-7.
Forsan (3-6) will play a 1A-1 Region I District 4 game against Winters next week, while Anson (9-0) will take on Stamford also in a 1A-1 Region I District 4 game.
