The Morris Central Mustangs were the 76-63 winner over the Milford Central Wildcats when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Morris Central fell 75-66 to Milford Central on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game back in December of 2023 (57), Morris Central still had to take the loss.
Milford Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Lawson, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. Lawson is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Braden Murphy was another key contributor, scoring 27 points along with two steals.
Morris Central are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4. As for Milford Central, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Morris Central will head out on the road to challenge Edmeston Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Edmeston Central will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. As for Milford Central, they will square off against Worcester at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Worcester will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 591st, while Milford Central is ranked 279th).
