Football Recap: Patterson Takes a Loss

If Patterson was feeling good fresh off their 49-13 takedown of Mountain House last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers were dealt a 56-14 loss at the hands of the Oakdale Mustangs on Friday. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-7.

Despite the loss, Patterson still got an impressive performance from Dasen Pettis, who rushed for 204 yards while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Pettis' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 113 rushing yards.

Patterson's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Oakdale, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patterson will host Sierra at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Timberwolves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Oakdale, they will be playing at home against Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,157 yards in their previous games.
