The Fleming Island Golden Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They came out on top against St. Augustine by a score of 71-64. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Fleming Island as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
It was another big night for London Jenkins, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 assists. Those 11 assists set a new season-high mark for her. Ariana Pierce was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
Fleming Island's win ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10. As for St. Augustine, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2.
Fleming Island won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Episcopal School of Jacksonville at 4:30 p.m. on January 9th. As for St. Augustine, they will head out on the road to face off against Menendez at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Menendez will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
