Glenn is 8-1 against LaVille since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Lancers at 5:30 p.m. Glenn will be strutting in after a win while LaVille will be coming in after a defeat.
Glenn took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Westville. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Blackhawks: they've now won seven in a row.
Archer Rust made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mekhi Pulluaim and Gavin Bowman did most of the damage at the plate: Pulluaim went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run, while Bowman went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Pulluaim has posted since back in May of 2024. Kaden Lang was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one double.
Glenn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, LaVille was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to Fairfield, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
LaVille saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Schwitz, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
LaVille's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Glenn, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Glenn took their victory against LaVille in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 20-0 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
