Headland and Eufaula are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Headland Rams will host the Eufaula Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Headland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Headland took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Cottonwood as Headland made off with a 19-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won six in a row.
Shaylee Greathouse made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had over her last four contests. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted over her last nine games.

In other batting news, Addison Grantham was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted over her last seven matchups. Another player making a difference was Sophia Fitts, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Headland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .818. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Eufaula faced off against Wicksburg on Friday. Eufaula lost 13-2 to Wicksburg. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Eufaula saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zy'Kayla Robinson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Robinson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Headland's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Eufaula, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Headland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .427. However, it's not like Eufaula struggles in that department as they've averaged .363. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Headland was able to grind out a solid win over Eufaula when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 5-1. Will Headland repeat their success, or does Eufaula have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
