The North Fork Miners will head out on the road to take on the Gunnison Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gunnison took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on North Fork, who comes in off a win.
North Fork scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 65-41 margin over Olathe. The victory was a breath of fresh air for North Fork as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
North Fork can attribute much of their success to Moss Inman, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds, and Henry Hollembeak, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Hollembeak scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Hayden Moreno, who scored two points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Gunnison's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight defeat. They fell 56-45 to Cedaredge. Gunnison has struggled against the Bruins recently, as their game on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
North Fork's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8. As for Gunnison, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
North Fork couldn't quite finish off the Cowboys when the teams last played back in January and fell 39-36. Can North Fork avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
