Having just played yesterday, the Southern Wayne Saints will jump right back in to play the Ayden - Grifton Chargers at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southern Wayne is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
On Wednesday, Southern Wayne didn't have too much trouble with Rosewood on the road as they won 27-12. The victory was just what Southern Wayne needed coming off of a 56-28 defeat in their prior match.
Southern Wayne got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nygeria Thompson out in front who scored ten points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Thompson has scored at least 25% of Southern Wayne's points.
Meanwhile, Ayden - Grifton scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Tuesday. They walked away with a 48-35 win over Spring Creek. The victory was just what Ayden - Grifton needed coming off of a 71-30 defeat in their prior contest.
Southern Wayne's record is now 1-7. As for Ayden - Grifton, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7.
