The Northeastern Eagles and the Clinton Dark Horses squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Northeastern Eagles had to settle for second. They took a 36-22 bruising from the Dark Horses. Northeastern's loss signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyselle Spencer, who rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns. Spencer is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevaris Jones, who threw for 209 yards and a touchdown while completing 76.2% of his passes.
Northeastern's loss dropped their record down to 14-1. As for Clinton, their victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0.
Northeastern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Clinton also has no future games currently scheduled.
