Belmont has gone a perfect 5-0 against Thurgood Marshall recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bison will head out to challenge the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Belmont has five straight victories, Thurgood Marshall has 13 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Belmont is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Stivers School for the Arts on Monday as they made off with a 27-0 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bison with their most commanding win of the season.

Gavin Bradley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with ten stolen bases, five runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josh Lucas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Blankenship, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Belmont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Thurgood Marshall couldn't beat Ponitz Career Tech on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Cougars lost 23-4 to the Golden Panthers.
Belmont's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Thurgood Marshall, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Everything went Belmont's way against Thurgood Marshall in their previous matchup back in April, as Belmont made off with a 21-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bison since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
