It was a good run, but the Nease Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Bartram Trail by a score of 40-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Nease has suffered yet this season.
Nease lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being McKenna Owens, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Abilgail Robinson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Bartram Trail's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alana Larson, who scored eight points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Miranda Campos, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Nease's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Bartram Trail, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nease and Creekside will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Creekside is on a four-game streak of home wins, Nease a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Bartram Trail, they will head out on the road to face off against Sandalwood at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sandalwood has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12.
