Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Madison

Madison waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Jefferson Area Falcons as they made off with an 11-4 victory. The Blue Streaks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

Ben Amos was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on AlexAnder DAvis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Gibbons, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Madison pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Jefferson Area, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison will welcome Edgewood at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jefferson Area, they will challenge St. John at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
