The Bishop Snyder Cardinals will challenge the University Christian Christians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
University Christian will be up against a hot Bishop Snyder team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Bishop Snyder put the hurt on Neumann with a sharp 11-1 victory on Saturday. Bishop Snyder's win was all the more impressive since the Celtics were averaging only 3.88 runs allowed on the season.
Cody Boshell was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tripp Hannah, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Bishop Snyder was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, University Christian waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Bulldogs as they made off with a 9-3 victory. That's two games straight that the Christians have won by exactly six runs.
Caden Worbington was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Worbington was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, University Christian got a massive performance out of Bubba Crouch, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and one triple. That home run was Crouch's first of the season. Bryson Harnage was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.
University Christian's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Bishop Snyder, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bishop Snyder has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like University Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
