The Parkway Center City Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the MAST Charter II Voyagers at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Parkway Center City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Parkway Center City proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 37) but on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 72-69 win over Hill Freedman World Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Parkway Center City's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Darryl Perry, who scored 16 points, and Israel Mckinley, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Perry continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Khalil Evans was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, MAST Charter II pushed their score all the way to 59 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-59 to Paul Robeson.
Parkway Center City's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for MAST Charter II, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
Parkway Center City came up short against MAST Charter II when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 45-41. Can Parkway Center City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
