Cox Mill has gone a perfect 9-0 against West Cabarrus recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cox Mill Chargers will be playing in front of their home fans against the West Cabarrus Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. Cox Mill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Cox Mill gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Butler by a score of 11-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.
Chris Correll Jr. looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Tyler Cartee was a standout: he scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of McCray Trimble, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, West Cabarrus suffered their biggest defeat since March 30, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 9-1 to Cox Mill. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
West Cabarrus also got a good showing from Jordan Richards, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Richards has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, West Cabarrus saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Antonio Estevez, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Cox Mill pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Cabarrus, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cox Mill has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 12.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like West Cabarrus struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Cox Mill's way against West Cabarrus in their previous matchup on Tuesday, as Cox Mill made off with a 9-1 win. Will Cox Mill repeat their success, or does West Cabarrus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
