The Leilehua Mighty Mules won against the Moanalua Menehune on Wednesday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Leilehua walked away with a 61-50 victory over Moanalua. Winning may never get old, but Leilehua sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Moanalua lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gavin Pommerenk. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds. The contest was Pommerenk's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Isaiah Kimbrough was another key contributor, scoring 4 points.
Leilehua's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Moanalua, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Leilehua will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kapolei at 7:00 p.m. on December 23rd. Moanalua's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mililani at 8:30 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Mililani focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday.
