The O'Neal Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the South Wake Sabres at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. O'Neal is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
O'Neal suffered their biggest defeat since December 4, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 47-27 walloping at the hands of Fayetteville Christian. The match was a close 20-18 at the break, but unfortunately for O'Neal it sure didn't stay that way.
Meanwhile, even though St. David's scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, South Wake still came out on top. South Wake walked away with a 70-58 victory over St. David's. Given South Wake's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while St. David's is ranked 318th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
South Wake relied on the efforts of Jacob Webb, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, and Ira Wilson, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Jackson Jones was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
O'Neal bumped their record down to 0-17 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road. As for South Wake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
