It was a good run, but the WISH Academy Owls unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 73-50 loss at the hands of Animo Venice. WISH Academy has not had much luck with Animo Venice recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Animo Venice was led to victory by Judah Elliot Smith and Rashad Johnson. Smith dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds, while Johnson scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Smith is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Matthew Jose, who scored four points along with five assists and two steals.
WISH Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Animo Venice, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.
WISH Academy will play host again and welcome TEACH Tech Charter, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. TEACH Tech Charter is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Animo Venice, they will head out on the road to take on Animo Pat Brown at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
