The Staples Wreckers extended their postseason success on Sunday against the Southington Blue Knights. They breezed by the Blue Knights on the road to the tune of 41-0. Winning may never get old, but Staples sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row.
Caleb Smith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 117 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 168 yards and a touchdown. Smith has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played.
Staples' win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Southington, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Staples will square off against West Haven at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Haven is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Southington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
