The Two Harbors Agates are taking a road trip to face off against the Barnum Bombers at 1:45 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, Two Harbors turned things around against Kelley on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Mariners by a score of 14-9. Considering the Agates' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Two Harbors let Cooper Anderson and Anders Hastings run wild. Anderson got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Hastings went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Hastings a new career-high. Dalton Seagren also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Two Harbors always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Barnum won against Carlton on Monday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Bombers were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over Cromwell. With that win, the Bombers brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Landen Oetterer was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Eoghan Heaslip, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
The victory made it two in a row for Barnum and bumps their season record up to 8-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Two Harbors, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Two Harbors has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Barnum struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Two Harbors came up short against Barnum in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 6-1. Can the Agates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
