The matchup between Murtaugh and the Pirates wasn't particularly close, with the Red Devils falling 60-46. While losing is never fun, Murtaugh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Pirates are ranked 44th).
It was another big night for Brody Westergard, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and three steals for Butte County. Westergard has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last four times he's played. Keaton Archibald was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five steals.
Murtaugh's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Butte County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
