You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Marist's strategy against Lithonia on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Marist War Eagles blew the Lithonia Bulldogs out of the water with an 85-33 final score. The War Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Lithonia saw an underclassman step up: freshman Essence Grier went 7 of 11 en route to 19 points. The game was Grier's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lashaj Cline, who posted seven points.

Marist is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. As for Lithonia, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-4 record.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Druid Hills the next time they take the court. Lithonia will host Druid Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Marist will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th.
