The Oak Harbor Wildcats were the 36-14 winner over the Marysville Getchell when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Oak Harbor fell 28-18 to Marysville Getchell on Friday. Oak Harbor has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Parker Anderson threw for 35 yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Aiden Finley rushed for 90 yards.
Oak Harbor's loss was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.8 points per game. As for Marysville Getchell, the win was the fifth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Harbor has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Shorewood at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Shorewood is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. As for Marysville Getchell, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Shorecrest at 8:00 p.m. Shorecrest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Marysville Getchell is ranked 65th).
