Arete Prep has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The San Tan Charter Roadrunners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Arete Prep got themselves on the board against Coronado, but Coronado never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 41-0 victory over the Dons on the road. The victory was just what Arete Prep needed coming off of a 38-8 defeat in their prior matchup.
Arete Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Prahlad Rattan out in front who rushed for 15 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 89 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Tj Ottun, who rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, San Tan Charter was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past NFL Yet Academy 73-0 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for San Tan Charter.
It was another big night for Zayden Neill, who threw for 124 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Benny Sharpe was another key contributor, rushing for 100 yards.
Their wins bumped Arete Prep to 4-5 and San Tan Charter to 7-2.
Arete Prep ended up a good deal behind San Tan Charter when the teams last played back in October of 2021, losing 40-22. Can Arete Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
