Argyle has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons Golden Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Argyle will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 541st, while Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons is ranked 252nd).
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Argyle, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-34 loss to Granville. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Argyle in their matchups with Granville: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons beat Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville 53-40 on Friday. The victory was just what Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons needed coming off of a 71-38 defeat in their prior contest.
Argyle bumped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Argyle was taken down by Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons 60-28 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Argyle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
