The Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves will square off against the Buena Park Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wiseburn- Da Vinci is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Buena Park is facing Wiseburn- Da Vinci at the wrong time: Wiseburn- Da Vinci suffered their first home loss of the season on Friday and they're likely out for redemption. They lost 18-7 to the Eagles.
Edward Sanchez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Xavier Horton, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Buena Park can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Kennedy by a score of 4-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Coyotes have posted since April 25, 2024.
Noah Sanchez looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Buena Park: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 5-9 otherwise.
At the plate, Buena Park's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Santillian, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Izeah Reyes was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Buena Park's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-10. As for Wiseburn- Da Vinci, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Wiseburn- Da Vinci has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Buena Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Wiseburn- Da Vinci came up short against Buena Park in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 5-2. Will the Wolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
