The Granada Bobcats will square off against the Kim/Branson Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Granada is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Las Animas: they outscored them in every quarter. Granada took down Las Animas 57-43 on Tuesday.
Maddox Coleman was his usual excellent self, going 10 of 18 to rack up 28 points and five steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Granada's points. Terence Hainer was another key player, putting up six points and three blocks.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kim/Branson). Everything went their way against Hoehne on Friday as Kim/Branson made off with an 85-60 win. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.
Kim/Branson's win came from a few key players Granada will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cameron Rosas, who almost dropped a triple-double with 11 points, 12 assists, and nine steals. Rosas is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kolter Cranson, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 14 boards.
Kim/Branson was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Granada's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points over those games. As for Kim/Branson, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Granada has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Kim/Branson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Granada couldn't quite finish off Kim/Branson when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 62-59. Will Granada have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
