If the Bay Tornadoes were riding high off their 72-25 takedown of the Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bay ended up on the wrong side of a tough 57-33 walloping at the hands of the Tigers on Tuesday. Bay has struggled against the Tigers recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Aiyana Hunt and Zoey Davis certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Hunt scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Davis scored six points along with five rebounds and five steals. Davis hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Chipley was led to victory by Marlee Sullivan and Kinsleigh Hunter. Sullivan scored 12 points along with seven steals and four blocks, while Hunter dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten assists. It was the first time this season that Hunter scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Neveah Bellamy, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
Bay has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Chipley, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-8.
Bay and the Braves will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Walton will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Chipley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
