The Arapahoe Warriors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 68-46 margin over Rampart. Given Arapahoe's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Rampart is ranked 108th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Liz Gentry continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Arapahoe's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Smith, who scored 13 points along with six assists.
Rampart's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Huxtable, who scored 16 points along with two blocks. Huxtable hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games.
Arapahoe pushed their record up to 8-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Rampart, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arapahoe will take on Cherry Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cherry Creek is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Rampart, they will be playing at home against Doherty at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
