The Jay Royals are taking a road trip to face off against the T.R. Miller Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jay will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Jay's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Central as Jay made off with a 12-0 win. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Royals this season.
Daisy Johnson made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Carleigh Baker was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Kiley Samford was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Jay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, T.R. Miller lost 16-4 to Orange Beach on Friday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Madi Anderson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.
Jay pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for T.R. Miller, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10-1.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Jay hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. However, it's not like T.R. Miller struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jay might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from T.R. Miller in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Jay avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
