A Season-Best Effort from David Burgess Leads Dougherty over Cairo
Sadly, David Burgess posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Dougherty over Cairo on Friday. Burgess threw for 327 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 58 yards.
Dougherty's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6. They and Westover are set to duel on Friday.

Bryian Duncan Jr was instrumental in extending Cairo's winning streak to six on Friday. Duncan Jr turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 169 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.
Duncan Jr and Cairo are taking a road trip to square off against Peach County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Duncan Jr will face off against Cam Cherry, the Trojans' star receiver. With so much talent on the field, fans are surely in for an exciting game. The only thing left to see is who brings home the W.

Amarion Donaldson Turns in Another Game with at Least Six Total Tackles
On Friday, Bainbridge had to settle for second even though Amarion Donaldson put up the best numbers he has all season. Donaldson wasn't messing around, picking up three sacks and making ten total tackles (4.0 for loss). The contest was his fifth straight with six or more total tackles dating back to last season.
Bainbridge is on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8. Donaldson and Bainbridge will square off against Monroe at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
