After a string of four wins, the Memorial Red Devils's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 52-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of LaBrae. While losing is never fun, Memorial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while LaBrae is ranked 136th).
Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was David Moore, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. Moore has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Teyon Harris was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four blocks.
Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for LaBrae, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Memorial will face off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Liberty's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. As for LaBrae, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Crestview at 7:00 p.m.
