Knoch has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on The Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Knoch is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Valley in Pennsylvania (Knoch is ranked 143rd, while Valley is ranked 439th).
Knoch missed an extra point against East Allegheny on Friday and it came back to haunt them. Knoch and East Allegheny were almost perfectly matched up, but Knoch suffered an agonizing 14-13 defeat. Knoch had a rough season last year, but they look ready to turn that poor record around this year.
Despite the defeat, Knoch got a solid performance out of Codi Mullen, who rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 94 yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Knoch's defense sure didn't make it easy: East Allegheny's QB was sacked four times before it was all said and done. East Allegheny's QB won't forget Brady Pflugh anytime soon given Pflugh sacked him four times.
Meanwhile, Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Freeport at home and fell 27-0.
Knoch's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Valley, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
Knoch strolled past Valley in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a score of 35-18. The rematch might be a little tougher for Knoch since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
