The Vancleave Bulldogs will head out on the road to  square off against  the Laurel Golden Tornadoes at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Vancleave is no doubt hoping to put an end to  a four-game streak of away losses.
 Vancleave fought the good fight in their extra-innings  game against Stone  on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tomcats by a score of  4-3.
  Brooklyn Rhodes was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she  struck out ten batters over  7.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   eight  hits (and only one walk). Rhodes has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Rhodes was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Rhodes wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Kassie Sonnier, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-4.
 Meanwhile, sadly, Laurel is still looking for their first win of the season after 11  matches. Their  rough  17-0 defeat to Hattiesburg  last Monday might stick with them for a while.
 Vancleave's record is now 12-12. As for Laurel, their record is now 0-11.
