Ben Danielson and Martin Phillips provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Madison. The connection was good for 51 yards, the longest such play in C1 District 5 this season.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Boone Central/Newman Grove beat Grand Island Central Catholic 35-7. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Cardinals.
David City's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Danielson threw for 51 and 1 touchdown and Phillips had 51 yards receiving. On the ground Jesse Windham chipped in 271 yards.
The Scouts' dynamic duo of Danielson and Phillips proved to be unstoppable against the Dragons, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Windham provided a threat through the air and on the ground as David City bested Madison.
Windham was a beast in the backfield as Anthony Ferg's team topped Travis Jordan's team.
Windham was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Scouts beat the Dragons. He nabbed 1 interception.
Lakeview's Jack Shadley and Mark Jarecki led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Shadley has thrown for 531 yards this season, while Jarecki has 10 catches for 176 yards. Windham from David City leads the league in rushing with 850 yards.
At the moment, the Vikings are in second, while Scotus is in third.
The league will see a high scoring game when Lakeview and the Shamrocks face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Kurt Frenzen's team comes in having scored 267 this season, while Scotus has scored 208. The Vikings scored 17 points last week as they bested Roger Krienke's team.
Madison lost to the Scouts 41-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
