Adding to the longest winning streak in 5A District 2 this week, Guthrie beat Deer Creek 28-3. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Bluejays.
Western Heights made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,194 from 12,402. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 21-12 victory over the Jets last week.
Northwest Classen's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Eric McGee has thrown for 771 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while Fre'Darian Ashley has 35 catches for 505 yards.
Steven Thompson of the Carl Albert is just 63 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 126 carries Thompson has accumulated 937 yard this year.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Bishop McGuinness takes on Guthrie. The Fighting Irish are currently in fourth, while Rafe Watkins' team is in first.
