If the Mt. Enterprise Wildcats were riding high off their 73-14 takedown of the New Summerfield Hornets on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mt. Enterprise fell just short of Overton by a score of 40-38. Mt. Enterprise lost against Overton in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 38-33 score last time.
Kayla Nobles continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Overton, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. The match was Nobles' tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sarah Emery, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Mt. Enterprise's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Overton, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Mt. Enterprise will head out on the road to face off against Douglass at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglass presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mt. Enterprise in Texas (Douglass is ranked 266th, while Mt. Enterprise is ranked 1361st). As for Overton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cushing at 6:00 p.m. Cushing will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
