Volleyball Recap: Marathon Has No Trouble Against Assumption

Marathon got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They blew past the Assumption Royals 3-0. The match marked the Red Raiders' most dominant win of the season.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Marathon was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-12, 25-2.

Emma Love paced Marathon's offense, picking up 16 kills. Love got some help from Mayven Schneider and her 13 assists. Schneider also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Rehgan Martin, each putting up four.

Marathon's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-11. As for Assumption, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

Marathon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Athens on the 2nd. As for Assumption, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Edgar on the 7th.
