Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Forbush walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Community School of Davidson Spartans on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Luke Hutchens tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Bo Moxley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Haughwout, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Forbush's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Community School of Davidson, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
Coming up, Forbush will face off against East Rutherford on Tuesday. The Cavaliers' pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Community School of Davidson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
