South Anchorage not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 16th (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against West Anchorage as they made off with a 3-0 win.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant South Anchorage was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-3, 25-5.
Service better focus on containing Jessica Gieser and Indy Kmet as the pair were huge in South Anchorage's win. Gieser had ten digs and five assists, while Kmet hit 70.6% for 12 kills and nine digs and two aces. That's the most assists Gieser has posted over her last 13 matchups. Loryn Peterson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
South Anchorage's victory bumped their record up to 37-3-1. As for Service, their win bumped their record up to 24-12-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Service has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.8 aces per game. However, it's not like South Anchorage struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
