After a string of four wins, Newman International Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 68-57 to the DasCHE Spartans. The Warriors lost against the Spartans in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 80-46 score last time.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Deontae Casey, who posted nine points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Daniel Cisneros, who put up nine points.

DasCHE's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jadon Comeaux, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 22 points and six rebounds. Comeaux is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last four games he's played. Liam O'Grady was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Newman International Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for DasCHE, they pushed their record up to 7-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Newman International Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 82-26 defeat against Greenhill on the 27th. As for DasCHE, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-35 victory against Newman International Academy on the 20th.
