The Belle Plaine Dragons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Udall and snuck past 54-52. The victory was some much needed relief for Belle Plaine as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lilly Hoffman, who scored 18 points along with five assists and five steals. That was a full 34.6% of Udall's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Emma Alberts, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Belle Plaine's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-11. As for Udall, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Belle Plaine will look to defend their home court on Friday against Conway Springs at 6:00 p.m. As for Udall, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Elk at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th.
