Softball Recap: Klein Oak Extends Winning Streak to Six

Klein Oak won the last time they faced Klein Collins and things went their way on Friday too. Klein Oak blew past Klein Collins 9-3. Considering the Panthers have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Aubrey Lacour made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other pitching news, Riannah Boulanger looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Katelyn Havemann, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Peyton Berry also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Klein Oak hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Klein Collins struck out six times.

The win was the sixth in a row for Klein Oak, bringing their record up to 15-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Klein Collins, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Klein Oak Panthers challenge Tomball Cougars at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Klein Oak has won three straight at home, while Tomball won seven straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Klein Collins, they will head out to face off against Tomball Memorial at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Tomball Memorial will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Klein Collins surely won't give up without a fight.
