The Troy Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Sunny Hills Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Troy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday.
Troy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak. Their tough 34-14 loss to Sonora might stick with them for a while. Despite 171 more yards than Sonora, Troy couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Despite their defeat, Troy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ethan Mundt, who rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. Declan Kai healey also helped out as he racked up 110 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Sunny Hills was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 14-13 to Buena Park. Sunny Hills has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Troy's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Sunny Hills, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Troy took their win against Sunny Hills in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 35-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for Troy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
