The Johnson-Brock Eagles had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points), and they went ahead and made it 13 on Thursday. They blew past Exeter-Milligan/Friend, posting a 67-26 victory at home. Johnson-Brock has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.
Johnson-Brock got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Taryn Ottemann out in front who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Ottemann is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Knippelmeyer, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Johnson-Brock pushed their record up to 13-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Exeter-Milligan/Friend, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnson-Brock will square off against Sacred Heart at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Sacred Heart is ranked 48th, while Johnson-Brock is ranked 31st). As for Exeter-Milligan/Friend, they will head out on the road to square off against Heartland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Heartland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday.
